I hold a PhD degree at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). My dissertation contributed to theoretical and empirical discussions regarding the governance of irregular migration and the experiences of irregular migrants at the city level. Currently, I work at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona(UAB) for an ERC project "Migration and Democratic Diffusion (MIGRADEMO)". Furthermore, I serve as an elected co-chair of the Immigration Research Network of the Council for European Studies (CES) at Colombia University. I am also an affiliated researcher to Urban Sanctuary, Migrant Solidarity, and Hospitality in Global Perspective Project based at Toronto Metropolitan University and Local Responses to Precarious Migrants in Spanish Cities(MUNMIGRA) at the UPF.

I have worked on several other research projects such as her position as an independent consultant in The United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) on affirmative action policies for ethnic and religious minorities, European University Institute (EUI)  on citizenship as well as as a predoctoral researcher in ERC Project ETHNICGOODS on nation building and EUROMEDMIG on Mediterranean migration. During my PhD, I was also a visiting researcher at the top-tier universities and research institutes of EUI, the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, and Aalborg University. I am well-connected within the fields of migration and urban studies, and actively participate in international networks such as IMISCOE and CES. In 2018, I was on the organizing committee at the International Migration Research Network (IMISCOE) Conference held at UPF in Barcelona. Previously, I was also an elected board member of the IMISCOE PhD network.
